Building information modeling (BIM) is a software used for creating informative models on buildings and other structures. Professionals outside the realm of construction and design industries require time to understand it.

Once the design is approved as proof of concept, then it is modeled in BIM. The architect is thus the author and BIM is simply the software that delivers the outcome.

BIM components are often developed in-house

Most architectural companies design their staircases, facades, windows, and the like. This can eliminate the problematic cookie-cutter design. Drawing a building’s elements in a realistic yet differentiated manner ensures it meets certain conditions and also makes sure it is not copied.
