NCERT has recently rationalized its academic books under the National Curriculum Framework of 2005 and it has done this for all the subjects class-wise including Hindi A for class 10. CBSE has recommended the two Class 10 NCERT Hindi Books i.e. Kritika– Part II and Kshitij- Part II be incorporated into all the CBSE-affiliated schools to cover the Class 10 Hindi A syllabus provided by it.
The NCERT textbook for Class 10 Hindi describes each chapter in an easy-to-understand Hindi language so that students may easily it. These textbooks provide practice questions for learners and are viewed as the most useful study materials. Class 10 students can solve the Hindi Board exam questions by studying these recommended Hindi textbooks, which act as a guide for them.
Questions for the Class 10 2024 Hindi A Board Exam will come strictly from these two NCERT Class 10 Hindi A textbooks (Kshitij and Kritika). The new pattern questions like MCQs which are based on the theory portion, will also come from these two NCERT books.
NCERT Hindi Kritika -Part II Class 10 Book PDF

Chapter 1: माता का अँचल:
This story Mata Ka Anchal is written by “Shivpujan Sahay” and it revolves around the protagonist Saransh, a young boy who lives with his mother in a small village. The story beautifully depicts the bond between mother and child and teaches us the importance of love, hope, and sacrifice.
Chapter 2: साना – साना हाथ जोड़ि…
This story is written by Madhu Kankariya. This story is about her trip to Sikkim, in which she vividly describes Sikkim’s culture, the lives of the Sikkimies, the beautiful Himalayas and its valleys. The writer feels herself changing along with the changing nature there. Sometimes she feels like a nature lover, and sometimes like a scholar, saint, or philosopher. This story also pollution problem and the difficulties that the people of Sikkim face.
Chapter 3: मैं क्यों लिखता हूँ?
This is written by Sachchidananda Hirananda Vatsyayan popularly known by his nom de plume Agyeya. In this chapter, the author talks about why he writes. He explains that he writes because he wants to find freedom from the tangles of his thoughts. In this chapter, he also says that there are two types of writers: one who writes based on their experiences, and another who writes under the pressure and constraints of their economic situation. He says that he writes because only when he experiences something.

Chapter 1 सूरदास

Chapter four is about a Poem written by Surya Kant Tripathi ‘Nirala’. The poem beautifully describes the spring season and its influence on our homes, which are brimming with happiness and the sweet scent of blossoms.
Chapter 5 नागार्जुन
This chapter contains two poems written by Poet ‘Nagarjun’ one is Yeh Danturit Muskan and another is Fasal. In the poem, Yeh Dandturit Muskan the poet has very beautifully described the enchanting smile of a child. According to the poet, upon seeing the smile of a child, we forget all our sorrows and our inner self becomes content. In the poem Fasal, the poet explains what Fasal (crops) is and what contributes to the growing of Fasal (crops)
Chapter 6 मंगलेश डबराल
In this chapter, the poet Manglesh Dabraal talks about his poem ‘Sangatkar’ where he discusses those individuals who never taste the flavor of fame yet continue their work tirelessly. They never receive praise for their efforts, living in obscurity, yet they persistently carry out their duties. They live in darkness, yet they selflessly continue their work without any selfish motives.
Chapter 7 स्वयं प्रकाश
This chapter is about the story ‘Netaji ka Chasma ’ written by famous Hindi writer Swayam Prakash who was born in Madhya Pradesh. The purpose of this story is to awaken the feeling of patriotism among the readers through its beautiful presentation.
Chapter 8 रामवृक्ष बेनीपुरी
The eighth chapter contains a story Balgobin Bhagat written by Ram Vraksh Benapuri. It revolves around, Balgobin Bhagat, a simple and honest farmer. Despite his poverty, Balgobin leads a contented life with his wife and children. However, his life takes a turn when a wealthy landlord, Raja Sahib, covets his land. The story portrays themes of honesty, integrity, and the struggle of the common man against the powerful.
Chapter 9 यशपाल
This chapter contains a story called ‘Lucknawi Andaaz’ written by the famous Hindi writer Yashpal who through this story written in a witty manner criticizes the decadent feudal class which follows an artificial lifestyle, disconnected from reality. The irony of this story is that such a parasitic culture persists even today.
Chapter 10 मन्नू भंडारी
This chapter contains a story called Ek Kahani Yeh Bhi written by Mannu Bhandari. It revolves around the protagonist, Aparna, a young woman who struggles with societal expectations and gender norms. Aparna is married to a man named Raman, but their relationship is strained due to Raman’s traditional views and his disapproval of Aparna’s independence. Through Aparna’s journey, the writer talks about gender roles, societal pressures, and the quest for personal identity and freedom. The story also highlights the struggles faced by women in patriarchal societies and the importance of self-expression in achieving happiness and fulfillment.
Chapter 11 यतीन्द्र मिश्रा
Naubatkhane me Ibaadat is a story written by Yatinder Mishra which is what the students will read in chapter 11. The story revolves around, a young boy named Vishal, who works as a sweeper in a mosque. ?The story depicts how spirituality and devotion can be found in the most unexpected places and reminds us of the importance of sincerity and humility in our religious practices.
Chapter 12 भदंत आनंद कौसल्यायन
The last chapter of this book is an essay titled Sanskriti written by Bhadand Anand Koslyayan In this column he discusses the importance of culture in society. It talks about how culture shapes identities, traditions, and values, bringing communities together. It also highlights the need to preserve cultural diversity amidst globalization.
